1.  Are there any prerequisites for taking  sociology courses at HCCS?

     No, the student may enroll in any of the courses offered in the discipline.

2. What employment opportunities are available for a student with a sociology background?

Students are encouraged to secure at least a BA or advanced degree in sociology in order to obtain gainful employment.  The American Sociological Association indicates that a person holding a Bachelor’s degree in sociology may be employed in areas such as business, social services, mental health, community planning, marketing and marketing research, banking, counseling, administration, human resources/personnel work.
