Degrees and Certificates
Four of the psychology courses currently offered to HCCS students are included as part of the core curriculum requirements for both the AA (Associate of Arts) and AS (Associate of Science) degrees. These include Introduction to psychology (PSYC2301, Social and Behavioral Sciences cluster), Statistical Methods in Psychololgy (PSYC2317, Mathematics cluster), and Multicultural Psychology and Psychology of Women (Both in the Multi-Cultural cluster).
There is no psychology major at this time at HCCS. Students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university for a bachelor’s degree in psychology are strongly advised to obtain a copy of the major requirements for the institution to which they plan to transfer. They are also advised to keep a copy of the course syllabus for each psychology course taken. These actions will help to assure a smooth transfer of credits.
