Frequently Asked Questions

Document Actions

1. Why do I have to take developmental math?
Either because of your low score on TASP or a low score on a placement test.

2. What happens if I decide not to take developmental math?
You will not be allowed to enroll in college level courses and so getting your degree or certificate may be delayed.

3. What happens if I do not pass a developmental math class?
You will get an IP the first time you enroll in the class. This means your work is in progress and this grade will not affect your overall grades. However, if you do not pass the class the second time, you will get a letter grade of A, B, C, D, or F.

4. Suppose I have completed the developmental math sequence and still have not passed the TASP exam, what next?
You will have to sign up for Math 0101. This is a 1 credit hour class that will keep you from being dropped from your other classes, and keep you in compliance with the state requirement regarding college level courses.
