Students interested in Foreign Languages and culture
have ample opportunities to develop their interest and leadership abilities
in all the HCCS colleges. Central college has the Association of Latin
American Students (ALAS), the longest running club in HCCS-Central history.
It celebrates Hispanic culture in such events as Cinco de Mayo and Fiestas
Patrias. All students are eligible to participate. Southwest College
formed recently the Latin Culture Club. In addition to student organizations, all the Foreign
Language departments join institutions such as the Institute of Hispanic
Culture or Foreign Consulates to bring cultural programs from different
regions of the world.
