Kathleen Cook, University of Houston, B.A., M.A.; Rice University, PhD, is the Assistant Chair for Academic ESL and Intensive English and an instructor of AESL and German at Central College. She has taught at HCCS for 15 years. She is a graduate of Rice University, a native Texan, an avid reader, and grandmother of three. She is interested in travel, languages, and culture.

Patrick Cox, Illinois State University, B.S.; University of Illinois, M.A., is an AESL instructor at Central College. He has taught at HCCS for 18 years.
Pat is especially interested in computer-assisted language instruction and has developed several web sites for students and faculty. He developed the first Web-CT AESL course, a hybrid of online and traditional classroom instruction.

Claire Yvette Rolnik, Hebrew University of Jeruselum, B.A.; Universidad Federal De Rio Janeiro, M.A.; Pennsylvania State University, M.Ed.; University of Toulouse Le Mirail, PhD, is an AESL, Intensive English, and Developmental English instructor at Northwest College. Claire is the Assistant Chair for AESL at Northwest College. Her interests include languages, of which she speaks six, world literature, fine arts, and dance. She is a member of TESOL.

Julia Cote, The Evergreen State College, B.A., Houston Baptist University, M.Ed., teaches Academic ESL and Developmental English at Southwest College. She has taught for HCCS since 1997. Her professional interests include cross-cultural communication and tolerance, writing across the curriculum, instructional and curriculum development, individualized instruction, and student success. Most semesters Julie also works as a English tutor, a position that she highly enjoys.

Deborah Hardwick, Central Michigan University, B.A., is an AESL instructor at Southwest College. She has taught for HCCS since 1981. Deborah has also done graduate work at Washington University School of Law, St. Louis, Missouri, the University of Houston, and Texas Southern University. She began her ESL teaching career in Rancagua, Chile, in 1967 and has taught ESL in Germany, Italy, and Spain. Her professional interests include writing from the disciplines, critical thinking, and academic preparation. Deborah has written a grammar and rhetoric textbook, has published two Spanish to English translations, and is currently writing a novel. She belongs to the Southwest Consortium for Critical Thinking, the Southwest Center for Great Teaching, and CTAC (Critical Thinking Across the Curriculum), Albuquerque, New Mexico. Laura Sheehan, University of Maryland, B.A., University of Houston, M.A., is Assistant Chair for AESL in the Developmental Studies program and an AESL instructor at Southwest College. She has taught for HCCS since 1984.  Her professional interests include cross-cultural communication, writing across the curriculum, and materials and curriculum development.
