The Dance Department at Central College seeks to offer high quality, low cost instruction for students of dance. Instruction is provided for students seeking degrees, students wishing to transfer, and persons seeking career and lifetime skills. In order to present this instruction, the department is committed to acquiring, maintaining, and creatively using safe and efficient spaces and technologically current equipment.

            The Dance Department seeks to instill in all of its students a respect and understanding of the creative process. The Department provides creative outlets for its students through formal and informal performance and presentation opportunities. The Department serves as a liaison with the various professional communities by keeping open a two-way exchange of ideas, services, and performances opportunities.

            The Fine Arts production staff provides professional management in state of the art performance venues, to showcase the achievements of the students and faculty. In offering these services and venues to the college and the community, we strive to foster excellence and diversity in the Fine Arts, and to support the Houston Community College System mission to provide innovative educational opportunities.
