ACADEMIC PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES

HCCS offers a variety of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of students pursuing their educational goals. In the academic disciplines, the College System provides transferable baccalaureate credit courses for students enrolling in degree or certain optional programs and for those enrolling as transients or for personal enrichment.

The Associate in Arts is intended primarily for students planning on transferring to a senior college or university to receive a baccalaureate degree in the following areas: education, business, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts. Commencing the fall of  1999, all Associate in Arts academic core curriculum courses taken at HCC are guaranteed to transfer and count toward the core curriculum of all Texas publich higher educational institutions. (Source: The 2005-2006 Catalog) Students should obtain appropriate transfer plans from a counselor.  Refer to the catalog for additional information.
