| Course Description |
| HALT 1380 - COOPERATIVE EDUCATION An intermediate or advanced course with lecture and work-based instruction that helps students gain practical experience in the discipline, enhance skills, and integrate knowledge. Indirect supervision is provided by the work supervisor while the lecture is provided by the college faculty or by other individuals under the supervision of the educational institution. Cooperative education may be a paid or unpaid learning experience. |

| As outline in the learning plan, the student will apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry. The student will be required to turn in a computer generated research paper and will also be required to give an oral presentation. |

| Attendance and Withdrawal Policies |
| Students are expected to attend classes regularly. Class attendance is checked daily by instructors. Although it is the responsibility of the student to drop a course for non-attendance, the instructor has the authority to drop a student for excessive absences. A student may be dropped from a course for excessive absences after the student has accumulated absences in excess of 12.5% of the hours of instruction (including lecture and laboratory time). |
