HALT 1320 - HORTICULTURE CALCULATIONS Syllabus
Credit: 3 (3 lecture)
Skill development in and reinforcement of the formulas and calculations commonly used in the horticulture Industry. Emphasis is on business calculations and problem solving skills. The student will compute quantities, volumes, and shapes related to horticulture; calculate cost production using mark-up, selling price, and profit margin; and develop and control budgets using labor, materials, and overhead.

HALT 1322 - LANDSCAPE DESIGN Syllabus

Instruction in the structure of the landscape business including cost estimation; organization; equipment needs; interpretation of financial reports; and material, labor, and equipment management. HALT 1380 - COOPERATIVE EDUCATION  Syllabus
Credit: 3 (1 lecture/seminar and 20 hrs a week employment)
Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary.
