Mission Statement

The Horticulture program of the Agricultural Sciences Department, in support of the HCCS mission statement, provides quality training in the field of horticulture to meet industry standards. The Horticulture technology program in the Agricultural Sciences department, in cooperation and support with the HCCS Mission/Strategic Plan, furnishes quality education, provides hands on practices and develops leadership to provide the student with an unmatched learning experience. The program provides these services by
  1. incorporating industry standards into curriculum taught,
  2. employing faculty that can relate to the student,
  3. employing faculty that has vast knowledge of the subject matter,
  4. developing curriculum as related to common industry practices, and
  5. accessing facilities used in the horticultural industry.
